Hedy Tan has over 35 years of experience working with individuals and couples, guiding them to overcome barriers and achieve the lives they desire. She began her career in 1986, focusing on alcoholics, drug addicts, and their partners.

Since earning her Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (ASAT) certification in 2000 under Dr. Patrick Carnes at The Meadows, she has consistently advanced her training in sex addiction through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP), including the ASAT program.
In 2013, Hedy attained certification as a Multiple Addiction Therapist (AMAT) and completed the Partner Trauma Therapist (APTT) certification through IITAP. She is currently pursuing the Certified Couples Betrayal Recovery Therapist (CCBRT) designation, further enhancing her ability to support clients navigating complex relational challenges.
For over two decades, Hedy has honed her expertise helping couples through Terry Real’s Relational Life Institute (RLT), where she serves as an RLT Facilitator, Bootcamp Leader, and Certified for Couples. RLT, developed by renowned therapist and author Terry Real, is an evidence-based, neuroscience-supported approach that emphasizes how early caregiver relationships shape attachment styles and lifelong patterns of relating. Unlike traditional talk therapy or standard marriage resolve, RLT employs a relational discovery process to uncover and address unconscious patterns that keep couples stuck, getting to the root of relational challenges with precision and impact.
